Regional Chapter Relations Manager

NASTT is in search of a confident, outgoing individual with strong organizational and communications skills to serve as the liaison to our regional chapters across North America.

This is a permanent, full time position managing various operations, activities and grassroot educational outreach to support NASTT’s eight regional chapters in the US and three regional chapters in Canada. This position will build and maintain a proactive, innovative and high-functioning service system that will provide a source of best-practice advice and hands-on assistance to our chapter volunteer leaders. 

Volunteer Management

Build relationships and support volunteer engagement efforts:

  • Act as primary staff liaison to the NASTT Regional Chapter boards of directors and committees.
  • Lead, engage and provide direction with the functioning of the regional chapters in relation to their programs, projects and obligations.
  • Create accurate and collaborative files including a master monthly calendar for the activities of all the regional chapters including annual conferences, training seminars, meetings and elections.
  • Facilitate communications between chapter leadership, chapter membership and NASTT by arranging and conducting meetings as well as utilizing other methods as appropriate.
  • Provide support and management advise for governance and regulatory issues.
  • Manage the implementation of a volunteer growth program to identify new sources of volunteer opportunities.
  • Ensure that an adequate number of qualified instructors are available to fulfill training program needs.
  • Coordinate volunteer instructors for each training event.
  • Manage and verify accuracy of instructor’s expense reports and ensure prompt submittal for compensation while acting as the main contact throughout the reimbursement process. 
  • Maintain accurate member volunteer activity in NASTT database

Event Planning

Coordinate regional chapter conferences, educational training programs, social events and community service outreach:

  • Establish and implement an annual conference timeline with defined deadlines and oversee execution of the plan under the direction of regional chapter leadership.
  • Assist with suitable conference venue selection and with contract negotiations.
  • Facilitate event set up in NASTT database, online registration process and onsite registration check in.
  • Coordinate production and printing of all meeting and conference materials.
  • Provide recommendations for improvement of future regional chapter events based on input from staff, conference committee and attendee evaluations.
  • Create training agreements with NASTT Regional Chapters and other training partners.
  • Manage the deliverables for training events (book shipments, manual printing, document collection, event close out, reporting).

Communications and Promotions

Support a variety of regional chapter functions through promotional communications.

  • Develop, coordinate and monitor regional chapter website content.
  • Work closely with Marketing Manager and support staff to implement chapter eblast and social media communications for chapter events, training events and elections.
  • Work closely with regional chapter leadership to support magazine publication initiatives.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum five years of successful experience in volunteer management, event planning, marketing, communications, business or related area of association management.
  • Demonstrated success in the management of volunteers.
  • Must possess sound judgment, discretion, integrity, responsibility, independence and a high degree of professionalism.
  • Ability to make and facilitate decisions and ability to respond quickly to situations influencing decision making.
  • Excellent leadership, oral and written communication skills and strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be an adaptable team player willing to work in a small staff environment in which all staff handle multiple functions and do what is necessary to get the job done.
  • Demonstrated high proficiency with web-based tools and applications including MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Dropbox or equal and social media platforms.  Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Constant Contact and Higher Logic.
  • The trenchless industry is a globalized community and cross-cultural sensitivity is a job requirement.
  • An evening and weekend work commitment is occasionally required to meet project deadlines.
  • Travel is required to support administration and event management in the United States and Canada. The ability to travel eight to ten times per year is a requirement.  Valid international travel documents are required.
  • Manage special projects as assigned by the Executive Director.

Location

The NASTT Regional Chapter Relations Manager shall maintain a professional in-home office complete with a dedicated land-line telephone and a mobile telephone, as well as a high-speed internet connection.  The in-home office may be located anywhere within the United States or Canada.

Compensation

NASTT offers employees a comprehensive compensation package and the opportunity to work from a home office.  Salary will be commensurate with experience.  Please state salary objectives with your application.
